March 26th, 2008 Adding a new item to the gallery
Find step-by-step instructions on how to upload, add, edit, move and delete images to our Dynamic Flash Gallery and how to manage files and folders there.
Enter the gallery and press the button New.
You will get into the page where you can add the new item.
- Image ID is the field with the image index number (you may omit this field, the number will be assigned automatically).
- Image Big is the field with a path to the big image. (The maximum picture size is 600/400 pixels.)
- Image Small is the field with a path to the thumbnail image. (The maximum pictures size is 50/50 pixels.)
- Image Description is the field with image description. (Do not use special symbols in texts: dashes (–), &, apostrophe, and others as Flash does not understand them.)
For the fields Image Big, Image Small (use paths towards the folder with the uploaded images; by default it is ‘images-gallery’ folder, for example: the file is uploaded into the folder images-gallery/galery1/folder1/dot.jpg, in the field you should specify galery1/folder1/dot.jpg) use Browse button to facilitate filling out these fields.
Upload button is the button for uploading images to the folder ‘images-gallery’.
It allows uploading any number of files without refreshing the page.
In the field ‘New file Name’ you may enter the new name, it is not necessarily if you want to leave the old name.
When pressing ‘browse’ button you may choose a file from your computer. After choosing the file, press ‘Upload File’ button. Wait till the file is uploaded (Select File line will change to File successfully Download).
Managing the uploaded images
Press Browse button for managing uploaded images. File-manager will be opened.
Here you can create directories, copy, move and delete files and folders, set images and thumbnail images, move about folders and look through the images. Folders are marked with orange color. When clicking the folder, you may look through its content; in order to go out from the folder, click “..(up level)”.
In order to move/copy files/folders:
- Select files/folders by clicking the check box.
- Choose the folder from the drop-down menu where you want to copy it.
- Press Move/Copy button.
In order to delete files/folders:
- Select files/folders by clicking the check box.
- Press Delete button.
In order to create a folder:
- Enter the folder name into the text field near MkDir button.
- Press MkDir button.
Use Set Big Image/Set Small Image to appoint small and big images. They set the image path into the correspondent fields.
After all the changes with adding an image to the gallery are done, press Save button and the image will be added to the gallery.

When pressing Edit button on the added image, you may change the fields for your choice.
- Press Preview button.
- Look through the changes and press Save button.
Deleting the item
In order to delete the item from the gallery, click the check box near Del sign and press Save button.

To change category name, enter this category, fill in the new category name into the line Page name. Press Save button.

Enter the main categories page. Change the categories position with the help of arrows.
Deleting the categories
Enter the main categories page and press the dagger situated near the category.
Press New button to add the new category.
