Co-founder and former Apple CEO Steve Jobs has died at the age of 56 years.

Steve Jobs founded Apple in 1976 with Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne. In 1985 he left there because of disagreements with the leaders of the corporation, and in 1997 he returned and in 2000 he became its CEO.

In August 2011, Steve Jobs, after a long vacation resigned as head of Apple. Tim Cook was CEO of the company, replacing Steve Jobs on 17 January 2011, when he went on sick leave. At the same time Steve Jobs was elected chairman of the board of directors of Apple.

In his letter to employees Jobs then said: “I’ve always said that if come the day when I can not get more consistent with his duties and expectations as CEO, I first tell you about it. Unfortunately, this day has come”.

Apple and Jobs himself did not report on the causes that made it impossible to return to the leadership of the company manager. However, journalists and bloggers agreed that the reason for this decision was Jobs’ health.

Steve Jobs has repeatedly experienced health problems. In 2003, Steve Jobs had cancer of the pancreas, which successfully operated in 2004. In 2008, Jobs has a lot of weight, which caused rumors of a possible recurrence of pancreatic cancer. In the summer of 2009 it became known that Jobs had surgery for a liver transplant.
