What is vintage?
Vintage – a particular trend in fashion, music and other areas, which was very popular for a long time, namely, 50-80 years of XX century. The word “vintage”refer to the things (household items) of the past, which are most clearly expressed the style trends of that time. And without the knowledge of history and what was fashionable in the XX century, it is impossible to distinguish a simple old thing from the vintage. The main criteria for evaluation, as you might guess, serves time and significance of a thing in fashion.
Vintage style in advertisement
Despite the advertising signs, pamphlets and photographs of that time, you can easily find old-fashioned reasons, trends and items that were part and parcel of our life in the past. All these elements create a nostalgic atmosphere, evoke feelings and memories. Yet even now, we are well aware of what they wanted to tell us.
Vintage style in website design
The design of website in vintage style looks completely different than in advertising. Even though using the same techniques, tricks, and color combinations that are present in the advertising signs and photographs, it radically different from those used in the design. Perhaps one reason that distinguishes these two trends – time. Now, many do not know much about fashion of that time. For them, vintage style – this is old stuff that most clearly associated with a certain time and no more.
